Installation variants
1. Installation as Contao template (design and content)
Choose this variant to install both the design and the example website including the site structure, articles, content elements and user accounts. Existing data will be lost upon installation.
2. Installation as Contao theme (design only)
Choose this variant to install only the design without the example website. The import is done with the theme manager (available from Contao 2.9.0). Existing data will be preserved.
Installation as Contao template
Choose this variant if your website does not yet contain a site structure and content and if you want to use the example website as a starting point for your own site.
a. Extract the .zip file and upload the files and folders to your Contao directory using an FTP client.
b. Open the Contao install tool and scroll down to the "Import a template" section. Choose the .sql file and start the import.
c. Switch to the Contao back end and log in with the username "k.jones" and the password "kevinjones".
Installation as Contao theme
Choose this variant if you want to preserve the content of your existing website. The import is done with the theme manager in the Contao back end.
a. Upload the .cto file to the "tl_files" directory of your Contao installation using an FTP client or the Contao file manager.
b. Open the theme manager (Layout -> Themes) and click "Theme import". Select the .cto file and start the import.
c. Switch to the site structure and assing the page layouts of the new theme as usual under "Assign a layout".
